Muskegon Lake: Sailing report for Wed Jan. 31

Familiar with the Latin phrase Carpe Diem?

It means Seize the Day!

Club Skeeter sailors did so Wednesday afternoon on Muskegon Lake.

Paul Wickland, Issac Leetsma, Don Fischer, and Tim Freye sailed the wind-smoothed ice in the diminishing winds and had fun sailing fast.

They sailed the eastern end of the lake where ice safety was fine.

The weather report for the rest of the week changed from earlier, where now there is snow in the forecast. It remains to be seen how much snow falls and how it drifts.

Meanwhile, the ice we have now is fast and easy to sail.
